About The Brand
Papa & Barkley started in 2016 when founder Adam Grossman set out to make a clean cannabis infusion for his father, named the company after his dad and his dog Barkley, and built the whole line around that origin. The brand is solventless by design: it uses whole-plant lipid infusion and heat-and-pressure methods instead of butane or other chemical solvents, which keeps the full cannabinoid and terpene profile intact. That approach shows up across the catalog in defined CBD:THC ratios rather than chase-the-highest-THC framing. The brand built its name on the Releaf Balm and has extended the Releaf system into tinctures, capsules, and gummies. In 2024 it was acquired by Mammoth Distribution, one of California's larger operators, and it now runs a separate NY-licensed adult-use line for the New York market.
