Hotel Guest Guide: Cannabis Delivery In NoMad
The Rules
New York State requires hand-to-hand cannabis delivery with a valid government-issued 21+ ID at handoff. The recipient must be physically present at the lobby, reception, or designated entrance. We can not drop off at the front desk for later pickup. We can not enter your hotel room. The courier waits in the lobby, you come down to receive, the entire transaction takes about two minutes. This is non-negotiable, the rules apply to all licensed New York retailers.
What To Order
Vape pens travel well, scent-free, and consume cleanly in hotel rooms with windows open. Pre-rolls work for outdoor consumption in nearby Madison Square Park (though New York park rules technically prohibit smoking in parks).
Edibles are the safest hotel-friendly format, no smoke, no scent, predictable dosing. Tinctures are the most discreet for in-restaurant or lobby-bar use. Avoid bringing more than 3 oz of flower, the New York legal possession cap.
Hotel Consumption Rules
Most NYC hotels prohibit smoking in rooms, including cannabis. Penalties are substantial, $250 to $500 cleaning fees are common, occasionally the hotel will eject you. Vape, edible, and tincture formats work without smoke. Open the window if vaping in the room. Cannabis odor from vaping is significantly less than from smoking flower, but it is not zero. Consider tinctures or edibles for full discretion.

Arlo NoMad runs a smaller lobby, expect 5 to 10 minutes of waiting for our courier to text you. Smaller boutique properties vary, call the hotel ahead if uncertain about lobby policies. Every NoMad hotel we have delivered to has been straightforward in practice.
Timing Your Order
NoMad delivery from our Gramercy store typically runs 25 to 40 minutes. Friday and Saturday evening can stretch to 50 minutes. Order before you want to be high, not when you already are. The most common visitor mistake: ordering a delivery from the lobby bar at 9 pm thinking it will arrive in 15 minutes, then realizing 40 minutes later that the bar has stopped serving and the room is still empty-handed. Plan the timing.
Payment
Cash, debit, or CanPay. Credit cards are not accepted due to federal banking restrictions. Most hotels have ATMs in the lobby if you arrived without cash. Tip the courier in cash, $5 to $10 is standard, more for longer routes or late-night deliveries. The courier route is harder than restaurant delivery, the regulatory overhead is significantly higher.
Visiting From Out Of State
Cannabis purchased in New York must stay in New York, transporting across state lines remains a federal crime even when both states have legalized adult use. Consume what you buy during your trip, do not pack the rest in your luggage home. Most NoMad hotel visits run 2 to 4 nights, which is roughly the time horizon for working through a typical purchase responsibly. Buy for your trip, not for after.
