Union Square Park Detail
What You Should Know
The Greenmarket Pairing
The Union Square Greenmarket runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday year-round, 8 am to 6 pm. The market is one of New York's most active farmers markets, with rotating produce, baked goods, flowers, and prepared foods. The walk from the park to our store is a natural extension of the Saturday morning routine for many Gramercy and Union Square residents. Drop a pickup order on the walk down to the market, finish your shopping, swing back through 18th Street to collect, take the long way home. The Sustainably Lit loop is built around exactly this pattern.
Walk Times And Routes
From the park's north end (17th Street) to our store takes about 5 minutes via 3rd Avenue. From the south end (14th Street and Broadway) to our store takes 7 to 8 minutes. The walk runs through residential and mixed-use blocks, well-lit, easy after dark. The reverse walk back into Union Square for transit or dinner is equally fast. Bike racks at 19th Street give you parking if you ride down for the Greenmarket.
Transit From Anywhere To Our Store
The Union Square station serves the L (crosstown to Bushwick), N/Q/R/W (Astoria to Brooklyn), and 4/5/6 (Bronx to Lower Manhattan). From Brooklyn or Queens via L, transfer at Union Square or 3rd Avenue and walk three minutes.
From Upper Manhattan via 6, exit at 23rd Street and walk south four minutes. The geography makes our store accessible from any borough via Union Square as the hub.
What To Order Near The Park
Customers shopping the park area tend toward Sustainably Lit's anchor categories. Microdose gummies (Camino 2.5 mg, Ayrloom NY-grown) for the daytime walking routine. Single 0.5 g pre-rolls (Back Home, Rolling Green) for the park-bench sessions. Low-dose 5 mg edibles (Holiday Off Hours) for the rooftop or apartment wind-down. Sun-grown flower from Rolling Green for the value-tier daily driver. The menu we built matches the rhythm of the neighborhood's customer base.
Park Consumption Rules
New York State law prohibits cannabis consumption in public parks, including Union Square Park. The pattern we recommend: consume at home before walking to the park (microdose 30 minutes ahead), use a vape pen on the walk between home and the park if you want a refresher, save the actual smoking session for back home or a private residence. The Sustainably Lit walking-dose pattern works well in this context. The hard line is no smoking or vaping inside the park itself, the rule is enforced and tickets do happen.
